BANGKOK SEASHELL MUSEUM

Bangkok’s one-of-a-kind Seashell Museum plays host to a remarkable and mammoth collection of exquisite shells. 3000 specimens of 600 species are creatively displayed with helpful annotations in both English and Thai, along with vivid accompanying illustrations. Even those who’ve never looked twice at these miniature masterpieces will soon find themselves engorged in the rich history and compelling beauty of seashells.

SRI MARIAMMAN HINDU TEMPLE BANGKOK

The majestic Sri Mariamman Temple, dedicated to the Hindu Goddess of the same name, is a vibrantly colourful and intricately designed temple built by Tamil immigrants during the 1860’s. Well-known by local worshippers for its ability to protect against ill-health and ward off the spectre of death, the temple is dedicated to Shiva's consort and the elephant-headed Hindu God, Ganesha. The extraordinary minutiae of detail alone makes it well worth a visit.

PATPONG NIGHT MARKET

Depending on your persuasion, Patpong Night Market may be a lively gauntlet of pop-up stalls or one of Bangkok’s naughtiest night time destinations - and indeed it’s both. The market offers a fun and vibrant shopping experience with plenty of bargains to be had on knock-off designer bags, T-shirts, shoes and sunglasses, as well as electronics, tourist souvenirs and artwork. The whole of Patpong Road and the surrounding Silom ‘sois’ are famous (or infamous, as the case may be!) for its go-go bars, late night gentlemen’s clubs, and eye-popping girlie shows.
